Windows 10 has 500m active devices: Microsoft


Windows had reached 500 million monthly active devices of Windows 10, said Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, at its annual developer conference, Build 2017, held in Seattle, USA. At the conference, Microsoft also shared the first details of the next major Windows update, the update of Windows 10 Fall Creators.

The update will be available later this year, which will provide new experiences for more than 500 million Windows 10 devices, the company said in a statement yesterday.

The upgrade will have a new design system and creative experiences that will move with users through Windows, iOS and Android.

New applications like iTunes will come to the Windows store, new tools will make Windows home for all developers and there will be the first Windows Mixed Reality motion controllers in the world.

It was also noted at the conference how Windows, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Azure together offer developers more than a billion opportunities to connect their innovations with Microsoft customers, according to the statement. Microsoft also announced that the new Cloud and Azure services will help developers quickly upgrade their existing applications.

"In a world of almost infinite computing power and exponential data growth, we focus on empowering each developer to create applications for this new era of intelligent cloud and edge Clever, "Nadella said.

Microsoft also showed how it is to meet developers where they are and how it helps them to succeed with the new services Microsoft Azure and Visual Studio, said the company.

At the conference, the company also announced its intention to better connect developers to Office 365 clients around the world. Currently, Microsoft Office 365 has more than 100 million active users worldwide.

Founded in 2011, Microsoft Build is an annual conference hosted by Microsoft for software engineers and web developers using Windows, Windows Phone, Microsoft Azure, and other Microsoft technologies.
