The biennial election of the country's top commercial body, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) ended in Dhaka tonight.
Holders of an office for the 2017-19 term of FBCCI will be elected in the polls that began at 9 am and continued until 5:15 pm

The 36 elected directors of the Chamber and Association Groups will appoint the President and two Vice-Presidents for the Board of Directors of FBCCI for a term of two years.
Another 24 directors, 12 from the association group and 12 from the chamber group, would also be placed on the board of directors of FBCCI for 2017-2019 as designated directors of different chambers And associations of the country.
This year, voters will be able to vote only in the associative group since the directors of the chamber group have already been elected without opposition.
