Boost for haor, coastal regions



Due to the recent flooding caused by torrential rains, the haor regions of Bangladesh gained its place in the budget guaranteeing a Great incentive in cash .

Minister of Finance AMA Muhith in the national budget for the fiscal year 2017-18 proposed to allocate 70 percent cash incentives to agriculture in the regions Bangladesh and 50 per cent elsewhere.

The minister hopes that this will help food production despite the damage in the districts of Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Netrakona and Kishoreganj.

In order to increase agricultural production, in addition to a regular subsidy, the government provides 30 percent cash incentives to agricultural exports.

The government also planned to stimulate the agricultural sector largely by ensuring the use of modern method or mechanical procedure substantially as previously.

Muhith maintained the fish, poultry and dairy sector – which is one of the main subsectors of agriculture and the main source of protein for rural populations – without a right .
