Bangladesh recognised for financial inclusion


Bangladesh won the World Currency Week Award at the 2017 Global Inclusion Awards for Innovative and Innovative Financial Inclusion and Innovation Initiatives of the Bank of Bangladesh.

The Global Inclusion Awards 2017 is an initiative of Child and Youth Finance International, a global movement dedicated to the empowerment of children and youth through financial inclusion and economic citizenship.

Awards recognize and honor those who demonstrate innovation in financial, social and livelihood education, financial inclusion and entrepreneurial support for children and youth at the national level , Regional and international levels.

SK On Chowdhury, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Bangladesh, was awarded the award at the sixth Global Inclusion Awards held in Berlin on 3 May.

Bangladesh won the award by competing with 19 countries in five regions.
