Audi CEO drops plan to sell motorcycle brand Ducati

The German Audi has abandoned its plans to sell its Ducati Italian motorcycle brand, said its managing director, Rupert Stadler, in a sign of confidence that the automaker expects to be able to withstand the costs of its transformation.

Measures to reduce costs by 10 billion euros, reduce red tape and strengthen links with Porsche, a brand owned by Volkswagen, "gradually increase our financial and organizational leeway," said managing director Rupert Stadler
