Apple begins assembling iPhone SE in Bengaluru plant

Apple Inc. has begun to assemble its cheap SE iPhone at the factory of its contract manufacturer in the technology center of Bengaluru, the company announced in a statement.

Apple of Cupertino, California, is eager to strengthen its market share in one of the most dynamic mobile phone markets in the world due to the defeat of sales in the Asian power plant in China.

"We start the initial production of a small number of iPhone SE in Bengaluru," Apple said in the release, adding that the phone would be available locally for sale this month.

In February, Reuters reported that Taiwan 's Taiwanese manufacturing partner Wistron Corp would unite the iPhone SE in India by April or early May.
